Este estudo foca nos desafios éticos e metodológicos ao pesquisar no Tampão de Darién, um relevante corredor migratório na América Latina. Utilizando uma perspectiva etnográfica, analisa-se como os pesquisadores podem se mover entre as estruturas de poder, a governança criminosa e as emoções de si mesmos e dos migrantes. Aborda-se o dilema de realizar uma etnografia tanto do migrante quanto das forças dominantes, considerando as complexidades intrínsecas à dominação na região.
