Data Availability Policy
Tramas y Redes promotes transparency, openness, and reproducibility in the research it publishes. It seeks to enable other researchers to consult, verify, and reuse the data underlying the findings. This policy is grounded in Argentina’s Ley Nacional Nº 26.899 de Repositorios Digitales Institucionales de Acceso Abierto [National Law No. 26,899 on Open Access Institutional Digital Repositories] and in the FAIR principles: data must be findable, accessible, held in interoperable systems, and reusable in other research.
To support the reproducibility of results, the journal asks authors of articles that have used or generated primary data to report the availability of the data supporting their research. To this end, they may state in the body of their text whether:
- The data have been deposited. In this case, the repository, the persistent identifier, and the license of the data should be indicated.
- The data are available from the authors upon request.
- The data cannot be shared for ethical or legal reasons. In this case, the restriction must be justified and, where possible, authors should indicate how other researchers could access the data.
The journal strongly recommends that the datasets used in the research be deposited in an open access digital repository. These include quantitative databases, anonymized interview transcripts, field notes, document corpora, data collection instruments, and analysis code. Authors publishing in Tramas y Redes may deposit their data in the CLACSO Virtual Library. They may also use any other institutional or subject repository that assigns persistent identifiers.
The use of open formats that maximize accessibility and reuse is encouraged. Data should preferably be published under an open license, ideally the same one used by the journal (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0). In all cases, deposit must respect personal data protection, the terms of informed consent, and the safety of participating individuals and communities.
Datasets produced by the authors or reused from other sources must be cited in the reference list, in accordance with the journal’s editorial guidelines.
